The Australian Open 2025 has already started on the 12th of January 2025 and tennis fans are excited for the incredible action which is being unleashed by the top tennis players. The tournament will last until the 26th of January when we’ll find out the champions of this year.

Australian Open 2025 men

In the men’s draw, Carlos Alcaraz is the big name to watch, especially because the Spanish player ranked no.3 is in a great form and the Australian Open Grand Slam is the only one missing from his collection. Carlos Alcaraz won the French Open in 2024, Wimbledon in 2023 and 2024, US Open in 2022, but only managed to reach the Australian Open 2024 quarterfinals that he lost against Alexander Zverev.

The defending champion Jannik Sinner, currently ranked no.1, is also back and ready to hold on to his title, but will he manage to do it against the ambitious Carlos Alcaraz and the GOAT Novak Djokovic, who won the most Australian Open single titles and who’s hungry for another win?

Australian Open 2025 women

In the women’s category, Aryna Sabalenka is the defending champion, currently ranked no.1, and she’s looking strong so far. However, she’s going to have a tough competition against Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff, who are both chasing the AO title. Iga Swiatek managed to reach the semifinals in 2022 when she lost in 2 sets against Danielle Collins, while Coco Gauff managed to reach the semifinals last year but lost against the 2024 AO winner Aryna Sabalenka.

Sabalenka, Swiatek and Gauff are the bookmakers’ top choices for winning this year’s Australian Open, but perhaps some other young stars could pull off a big surprise?

Ready for the big tennis action

Everyone’s waiting to see those big matches that could define the tournament this year. Will we see Alcaraz take on Djokovic in an epic showdown or could Sabalenka and Swiatek meet in the final? One thing’s certain though – we can expect some of the best tennis action of 2025.
