Date: October 23, 2025 - October 26, 2025

The European Darts Championship 2025 will take place in Dortmund, Germany, from 23 to 26 October 2025 and it will feature the top 32 players, ranked based on the prize money they earned in the 14 European Tour events that made up the 2025 PDC Pro Tour.

History and Format

First held in 2008, the European Darts Championship was created to bring together the top players from the European Tour events, to give them recognition and to allow them to showcase their darts skills.

The 2025 European Darts Championship is the 18th edition and it will be hosted at the Westfalenhallen in Dortmund, Germany, as in the previous three years. Germany has hosted most editions of this championship, although the venue has changed several times over the years.

There will be competing 32 players based on the 2025 European Tour Order of Merit. This ranking takes into consideration the prize money won by players in the European Tour events from 2025.

Among the previous winners, we can’t forget to mention Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen, who have each won four championships. Ritchie Edhouse is the current champion, but he won’t be able to compete in 2025 as he didn’t manage to finish in the top 32.

The 32 players will compete for £500,000 prize money, in leg-format matches, with the number of legs increasing as the championship progresses:

  • Best of 11 legs in the first round;
  • Best of 19 legs in the second round and quarter-finals;
  • Best of 21 legs in the semi-finals and final.

The European Darts Championship 2025 will be broadcast live on ITV4, DAZN, Viaplay, PDCTV and through the PDC’s broadcast partners.
