The Belgian Grand Prix 2026 returns to the legendary Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, a venue widely regarded as one of the greatest challenges in Formula 1. Fast, demanding, and often unpredictable, Spa combines high-speed straights, sweeping corners, and rapidly changing weather to create one of the most exciting races on the calendar.

More than 70 years of Formula 1 history have made Spa-Francorchamps one of the sport’s most respected venues. Every race weekend brings fast corners, changing weather, and plenty of opportunities for dramatic battles.

The Circuit

Spa-Francorchamps is the longest circuit currently used in Formula 1 and one of its most iconic.

Originally built in 1921 using public roads between Francorchamps, Malmedy, and Stavelot, the circuit measured almost 15 km before being redesigned in 1979. While significantly shorter today, Spa has retained its character, featuring dramatic elevation changes, long full-throttle sections, and technical corners that reward precision.

No section of the track is more famous than Eau Rouge and Raidillon, where drivers accelerate uphill through one of the most spectacular sequences in world motorsport. Combined with the region’s unpredictable weather, which can produce rain on one part of the circuit while another remains dry, every lap presents a unique challenge.
