Date: May 19, 2025 - June 8, 2025

The French Open 2025 is just around the corner, starting on 25th of May in Paris. As always, the red clay at Roland Garros promises tough matches, big names, and maybe even a few surprises. The tournament runs until 8th of June and tennis fans are getting ready for two weeks of high quality tennis action.

French Open 2025 Men

All eyes are on Carlos Alcaraz again this year. He’s the defending champion and currently ranked world no. 2. He won the French Open in 2024 after an epic five set battle with Novak Djokovic and since clay is probably his best surface, he is expected to dominate once again.

However, Jannik Sinner – the current world no. 1 – looks ready to make a serious run in Paris and go for his first French Open title. Last year, he was eliminated in the semifinal by Carlos Alcaraz after five sets, so he will definitely be looking for “revenge” this time. And let’s not rule out Novak Djokovic, who has already won three Roland Garros titles (in 2016, 2021, 2023) and always poses a threat, especially when records are on the line.

French Open 2025 Women

In the women’s draw, Iga Swiatek is still the one to beat on clay. The Polish player has already won the French Open four times (in 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024), and she’s definitely coming in as the big favorite to win again.

Aryna Sabalenka is currently ranked no. 1 and, according to most bookmakers, has the second best chance to win the French Open title this year. But will she, or someone else, actually manage to knock Iga off the top spot in Paris? It’s definitely going to be interesting to watch.

The clay court battle begins

All in all, we are in for another exciting edition of French Open, one of the most prestigious tennis tournaments, dating back to 1891. While Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek will be looking to defend their titles, we can expect plenty of passion, high quality matches, and unforgettable moments from all tennis players aiming to conquer this year’s tournament.
