Basic rules for bettors

BASIC RULES FOR BETTORS

Betting online is nowadays one of the easiest things that a bettor can do, but many of the new bettors tend to make mistakes mainly because they are not well-informed, therefore we would like to discuss some of the basic rules that beginner bettors should know.

The first rule that new bettors must respect is to set a start-up budget or a monthly budget dedicated for this activity and not deposit again in case they lose it. Usually, bettors with no experience tend to lose, and this wouldn't be such a big problem if they took a break. Unfortunately, most of them deposit again and again, breaking every single rule of money management in betting, until they lose all of their money. This is the starting point of a very serious problem called "gambling addiction". Bettors must be able from the start to control their betting activity (budget, stakes, strategy).

The second rule is to always analyze carefully the sports on which you are betting. This is a common rule which is not respected by beginners because they believe that winning money through betting is one of the easiest things, therefore there's "no need" in spending time and analyzing the stats, the form or the current evolution of a specific team. Placing irrational bets just by following an impulse or some superficial data found in the media regarding a certain team/player (press, tv, magazines) is the biggest mistake that a beginner can make. Once a bettor manages to understand that it takes time (a lot of time) to analyze, compare data and approximate the chances of a bet to be successful or not, he'll become more aware and reduce the risks of losing.

The third rule and probably the most important one is about the way bettors feel when betting or the way they perceive this activity. Bettors should understand that betting/gambling should be done mainly for fun, not for other reasons and especially not to replace other activities (such as a job). Of course, it would be hypocritical to say that a bettor shouldn't think or target some winnings - because it's impossible, but bettors must be able to realize that it's just a game (with risks) and anything can happen. Therefore, if betting starts to make you stressed or tense, then it's a clear sign that you must stop.

It's obvious that betting is much more complex than you would have thought, so if you don't manage to control it and see it as a hobby or activity with the main goal of making you happy and relaxed, then the chances are bigger that betting will control you.
