TYPES OF BETS

Even if most bettors are generally placing only single and multiple bets, many online betting sites are offering a really big variety of types of bets.

First of all, let's find out what the 3 big types of bets are:

1. Single bet - a type of bet in which a bettor must correctly guess the outcome of only one event/game

Example: Real Madrid vs Barcelona - Real Madrid to win (price: 2.44)

2. Multiple bet - a type of bet in which a bettor must correctly guess the outcome of more than one event/game (a multiple bet can have from 2 selections up to 10 or even more - the maximum number of selections can be different for each online bookmaker).

Example:

o Real Madrid vs Barcelona - Real Madrid to win (price: 2.44)
o Chelsea vs Manchester United - Manchster United to win (price: 1.89)
o AC Milan vs Juventus - Juventus to win (price: 2.34)
o Total price: 10.79

3. System bet - a type of bet, similar to a multiple bet, in which you can win even if you don't guess correctly the outcome of each selection. In order to place a system bet, you must add at least 3 selections to your betting ticket.

Example:

o Real Madrid vs Barcelona - Real Madrid to win (price: 2.44)
o Chelsea vs Manchester United - Manchster United to win (price: 1.89)
o AC Milan vs Juventus - Juventus to win (price: 2.34)
o System 2/3 (3 bets)

In the system 2/3 example there are placed 3 bets (a combination of 2 selections from 3 selections), therefore you need to guess the outcome of at least 2 selections in order to win your system bet. The system bet is generally used by those who want to lower the risk of losing a multiple bet if they don't guess the outcome for all selections. Unfortunately, the winnings are lower too.

Apart from the above mentioned types of bets there are many others:

o Trixie - a combination of four bets with 3 selections from different events: 3 double multiple bets and 1 treble multiple bet. You must guess the outcome of at least 2 selections from 3 in order to win.
o Patent - a combination of seven bets with 3 selections from different events: 3 single bets, 3 double multiple bets and 1 treble multiple bet. You must guess the outcome of at least 1 selection from 3 in order to win.
o Yankee - a combination of eleven bets with 4 selections from different events: 6 double multiple bets, 4 treble multiple bets, 1 fourfold multiple bet. You must guess the outcome of at least 2 selections from 4 in order to win.
o Lucky 15 - a combination of 15 bets with 4 selections from different events: 4 single bets, 6 double multiple bets, 4 treble multiple bets and 1 fourfold multiple bet. You must guess the outcome of at least 1 selection from 4 in order to win.
o Lucky 31 - a combination of 31 bets with 5 selections from different events: 5 single bets, 10 double multiple bets, 10 treble multiple bets, 5 fourfold bets and 1 fivefold multiple bet. You must guess at least one selection from 5 in order to win.
o Lucky 63 - a combination of 63 bets with 6 selections from different events: 6 single bets, 15 double bets, 20 treble bets, 15 fourfold bets, 6 fivefold bets and 1 sixfold bet. You must guess at least one selection from 6 in order to win.
o Heinz - a combination of 57 bets with 6 selections from different events: 15 double multiple bets, 20 treble multiple bets, 15 fourfold multiple bets and 1 sixfold multiple bet. You must guess at least 2 selections from 6 in order to win.

Super Yankee, Super Heinz, Alphabet, Block, Union Jack, Goliath, Round Robin, Flag, Straight Forecast, Reverse Forecast, Each-way, Combination Forecast, Straight Dorecast Double, Reverse Forecast Double, Straight Tricast, Combination Tricast, Quadrella, Scoop6 and many more can be found at most of the online bookmakers.

Bet365, William Hill, Unibet, Bet-at-home and most of the other European online bookmakers offer a big part of the types of bets mentioned above.

Overall, reading carefully the terms & conditions of an online bookmaker before registering is definitely a very important thing to do in order to get used to the bookie's rules and also avoid problems in the future.
