5 things to check while placing live bets

5 THINGS TO CHECK WHEN PLACING LIVE BETS

When placing live bets it is very important to be careful and double check some things which can influence the outcome and the settlement of your bets. Some bookmakers can have rules in your disadvantage, while others can simply have bugs that you need to report immediately. In any case, placing live bets is something that can highly increase your balance because you can take advantage of good odds, but on the other hand it can also make you lose a lot of money if you're not careful.

Here are 5 things you need to check when placing live bets:

1. Never fully trust the live score presented in the live betting platform. When placing live bets, you have a small chart within the live event in which you see the score of the game in real time. Unfortunately, the score may not be 100% correct all the time and the bad thing is that most online bookmakers have a rule in which they specify: "we are not responsible for any mistake regarding the live score of the in-play events". Basically, it can happen to see football game with 0-0 in min 54 and you place a bet on under 2.5 goals to be scored. Later on you find out that the real score in min 54 was 2-0, not 0-0, but there's nothing you can do because the online bookmakers are covered by their rules or terms & conditions, - they will not void your bet even if it was placed because of a mistake from their part. Therefore, it's very important to have another source (e.g. a livescore website) or to watch a live stream of that event in order to be sure of the real score.

2. Odds are not always correct. It can happen to see really good odds, let's say 2-3 times bigger than they should be, and you place a bet that results in a winner. Unfortunately online bookmakers always fix the errors which are in their disadvantage. If your bet was settled correctly, either they will come back to the decision and void your bet or they will resettle the bet using the real odd from that time. The funny thing is that if you place a bet on lower odds, most of the online bookmakers will not fix the error, not even if you provide them proofs. The conclusion is that you need to double check the odds before placing a bet.

3. Odds movement when placing bets. This is probably one of the most important things that you need to check when placing live bets. From the moment you enter the stake/click on "bet" until the moment the bet is accepted and placed there a few seconds. In those seconds it can happen for a goal to be scored or a break to be done, basically an action within the event that can fully change your chances of winning the bet. Some online bookmaker reject your bet when this happens, regardless of the odds movement (it doesn't matter if the odds become higher or lower) - and this is a good thing. Other online bookmakers accept your bets if the odds increase (with corrected odds) and reject your bets if the odds decrease. With other online bookmakers you can find out that your bets are accepted with the exact odds you have selected, no matter if the odds increased or decreased in the meantime. There can be many situations in your disadvantage and that's why you need to know the clear rules of the bookmakers you use. Fortunately, nowadays many betting sites have settings in the betslip in which you can select to reject a bet if the odds increase/decrease or accept a bet if the odds increase/decrease.

4. Make sure the bet was placed. When placing live bets it's difficult to be 100% focused, especially if you watch simultaneously different events. Therefore, all the time you need to check the betslip confirmation or the betting history in order to be sure a bet was placed or not.

5. Move fast. If you're betting on football then the probability of something happening (a red card/a goal scored) exactly while you place a bet is very low, but on other sports (such as tennis/volleyball) the odds can be blocked/changed or the events can become unavailable very fast - so once you decide to place a bet, do it really fast.
